Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed outrage after doctored pornographic images of herself and her sister surfaced on a pornography website, calling the incident a violation of women’s dignity.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has condemned a pornography website that circulated doctored images of herself and her sister Arianna, describing the incident as “disgusting” and a violation of women’s dignity.

The site, identified as Phica, allegedly hosted fake photos of prominent women with offensive captions, before being flooded with manipulated images of Meloni and her sister, who is also a politician in the Brothers of Italy party. The platform was swiftly shut down by its managers following widespread backlash, with administrators blaming users for breaking its rules.

“I am disgusted by what happened, and I want to extend my solidarity and support to all the women who have been offended, insulted, and violated in their intimacy by the managers of this forum and its users,” Meloni told Corriere della Sera. She added, “It is disheartening to note that in 2025, there are still those who consider it normal and legitimate to trample on a woman’s dignity.”

Arianna Meloni criticised the trend as a product of a “click-through society” where privacy is devalued. Italy’s 2019 revenge porn law prescribes up to six years in prison, though Meloni signalled the need for stronger protections against digital privacy violations.
