According to a report from VANGUARD, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has called on the Nigerian government to prosecute those responsible for renewed attacks on Christian communities, describing the violence as unacceptable in a statement posted on X.
She stressed that religious freedom is an inviolable right and urged stronger security measures to protect Christians and other religious groups. On the same day, President Trump voiced anger over what he called a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria during a US radio program, repeating threats to halt aid and consider military action if the government fails to act. Both leaders accused Nigeria of not doing enough to stop extremist violence against Christians.
