Goodluck Jonathan Clearly Eligible To Run for Presidency in 2027 – Ubani
By virtue of decisions by the Supreme Court, the law anywhere in the world is prospective and not retrospective. We cannot enact a law and begin to take away vested rights, existing rights or impose new obligations when the individual at the time of executing a decision was not aware of the existence of a law. The commencement date of any law is the day the bill is signed into law. If there was an amendment in 2017 that came into law in 2018, how can that law apply to ex-President Jonathan’s vested rights that took place in 2010-2015, it is clearly impossible.
