You became the head of the princes and still want to be the head of the Fuji industry. Why not kill me then, when it isn’t pap that we eat?

Veteran Fuji musician Ayinla Kollington has reignited his long-standing rivalry with Wasiu Ayinde (K1 De Ultimate), declaring himself the undisputed king of the genre. In a fiery interview on Agbaletu TV, the 74-year-old music icon dismissed K1’s claims to Fuji leadership, stating: “When they ask who is the head of Fuji Music, both here and abroad, it is my name that will be mentioned.” Kollington’s comments come amid tension over his absence at K1’s mother’s burial.

The Fuji legend revealed he had attempted to contact K1 multiple times, saying: “I called him several times…he didn’t pick up and didn’t return the call.” He mocked K1’s dual roles as both traditional prince and Fuji aspirant, asking rhetorically: “Does he want to be God? You became the head of the princes and still want to be the head of the Fuji industry.” Kollington boldly challenged his rival, asserting his survival through industry battles.

Asserting his dominance, Kollington stated: “I am the authority of Fuji music in Nigeria and abroad.” While acknowledging K1’s success (“he has risen”), he dismissed any claims to supremacy, concluding: “That doesn’t mean tomorrow he would begin to talk about number one or number two.” The interview has sparked fresh debate about leadership in Nigeria’s Fuji music scene.
