Dumebi Kachikwu has accused Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, and others of hijacking the ADC, calling their actions a betrayal of the party’s values.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President David Mark, and others of seizing the party’s leadership “through the back door.”

Kachikwu described them as “geriatrics, who are merely shopping around for a party to prosecute their chopping must continue ambition,” and dismissed their “rescue mission” narrative. “What they have done was buy a bad market from Ralph Nwosu,” he said, noting that Nwosu’s tenure expired in August 2022 and is under legal challenge.

“Can you enter a man’s house through the back door and declare yourself the landlord?” Kachikwu asked.

He called the group “greedy and selfish old men” who had failed Nigeria. “You are not the fire brigade. You are the arsonists,” he added.

Calling for merit-based leadership, he said, “We want a nation whose laws and opportunities are equal to all men… You have failed us and stand rejected by us.”
