The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has said the South East will deliver over 70 percent of its votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Speaking at a reception in his honour in Ntalakwu, Abia State, Kalu said, “No other President has remembered the promise made to the Igbo people after the war like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” He noted that the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) fulfills the long-standing post-war pledge of reconstruction.

Kalu also welcomed top decampees from LP and PDP to APC and criticized alleged attempts to bar traditional rulers from engaging with federal officials.

“I heard the cry of the traditional rulers… this kind of directive… is not good governance,” he said.

Chief Emeka Atuma hailed Kalu’s leadership, affirming the APC’s growing influence in Abia State.
