These issues pose a serious threat to the well-being of our students
Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has ordered the immediate closure of Al-Ansar Indabo female students’ hostels at Hotoro and UDB Road, Kano, over safety and disciplinary concerns.
In a statement issued on Monday, Dr. Hamza Garba, Vice President, Campus Life, announced the withdrawal of university approval for the hostels due to multiple violations of MAAUN’s code of conduct.
“I am directed by the management to write, inform, and bring to the attention of our esteemed parents and students that the university has withdrawn its approval for Al-Ansar Indabo female students hostels located at UDB Road and Hotoro,” Garba said.
The university cited infractions including immoral behavior, poor utilities, student violence, unauthorized night movement, and cohabitation with unknown tenants.
Affected students must vacate after semester exams. “Management is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure total compliance,” the statement added.
Students and parents are urged to contact vp-campuslife@maaun.edu.ng for approved accommodation options.
