Katy Perry almost falls into crowd after prop mishap at San Francisco concert

Katy Perry had a close call on Friday night during her Lifetimes Tour stop in San Francisco when a large butterfly prop malfunctioned mid-performance.

The singer was suspended above the crowd at the Chase Center while performing her hit song “Roar” when the rigged prop jerked and dropped unexpectedly.

Video clips shared online showed Perry momentarily losing balance before quickly regaining her composure. She paused the performance, glanced up at the unstable structure, then resumed singing as the prop swung overhead.

CNN has reached out to Perry’s representatives for comment.

The incident mirrors a similar mishap from Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, where a flying car prop tilted midair during a Houston concert last month.
