The ceremony in Abuja follows Ganduje’s recent resignation as APC national chairman.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has inaugurated the governing board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), naming former Kano State governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as chairman.
The ceremony in Abuja follows Ganduje’s recent resignation as APC national chairman.
Keyamo urged the new board to prioritize transparency, safety, and passenger experience. “You are not merely figureheads; you are the architects of our aviation future,” he said, calling for adherence to the FAAN Act and sustainable development goals.
Ganduje pledged cooperation with the ministry. “We will study the Act… so that we do not exceed our boundary… but at the same time, we do not exhibit mediocrity by not doing what we are expected to do,” he stated.
FAAN Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku also promised effective collaboration. Other board members include Ms Dorothy Duruaka, Ahmed Suleiman, Engr. Nasiru Muazu, Omozojie Okoboh, Engr. TP Vembe, and Bridget Gold as secretary.
