The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, says the federal government has yet to decide on possible sanctions against fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate, following his altercation with airport officials. Ayinde had issued a public apology after the August 5, 2025, incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Keyamo told PUNCH on Friday that he had seen the apology but noted the matter remained under consideration.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed that petitions against Ayinde had been sent to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police for action. NCAA spokesman Michael Achimugu said the agencies would determine the next steps.

In his statement, Ayinde described the incident as “unfortunate,” denying claims he carried alcohol. He explained the flask in question contained water due to chronic dehydration. He apologised to the Presidency, aviation authorities, ValueJet, and Nigerians.
