Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, says any airline that flies Kwam 1 during his no-fly ban risks losing its operating licence. The Fuji star allegedly blocked a ValueJet plane from taxiing in Abuja.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has placed Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1, on a no-fly list, warning that any airline that flouts the ban risks licence withdrawal.

In a statement on Thursday, Keyamo cited reports and video evidence from aviation agencies about the singer’s altercation with ValueJet crew at Abuja airport.

He said Kwam 1 “constantly moved his position on the tarmac to actually block the aircraft from taxiing,” calling it behaviour “akin to a hostage situation.”

Keyamo described the incident as “a case of temporary loss of sanity and control on both sides” and criticised the pilot for initiating taxi procedures before confirming the passenger was off the tarmac.

“Anyone who flouts this directive risks withdrawal of their operating licence,” he said.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had earlier suspended two ValueJet pilots and announced Kwam 1 would be blacklisted for six months pending full investigation.
