King Charles strips Prince Andrew of titles and orders him to vacate his royal residence amid Epstein-linked scandal.
Britain’s King Charles has formally stripped his brother, Prince Andrew, of his royal titles and ordered him to vacate his residence at Royal Lodge, Buckingham Palace announced Thursday.
The move follows renewed scrutiny over Andrew’s ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and fresh allegations in Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl, where she accused him of sexual assault as a teenager.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” the palace said. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”
The 65-year-old will relocate to the Sandringham estate, privately funded by the King. Buckingham Palace said the decision was necessary despite Andrew’s continued denial of all allegations.
Andrew remains eighth in line to the throne, though his peerages linked to York, Inverness, and Killyleagh are being revoked.
