King Charles gives cancer update…

King Charles has spoken candidly about his cancer diagnosis, describing it as a “daunting and at times frightening experience.”

In a heartfelt message ahead of a Buckingham Palace reception for cancer charities, the King reflected on the emotional toll of the disease and praised the compassion of healthcare workers and volunteers.

“Each diagnosis… brings into sharp focus the very best of humanity,” he said, adding that the “darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion.”

Diagnosed in February after prostate surgery, Charles has undergone weekly treatments and recently resumed public duties. He emphasized the importance of human connection in healing, describing support groups and medical professionals as a “community of care.”

Joined by Queen Camilla and The Duchess of Gloucester, the King hosted survivors, campaigners, and organizations, reaffirming his commitment to raising awareness and expressing “deepest admiration and gratitude” for all involved in cancer care and research.
