Knife fight between husbands leaves 34-year-old man dead

A 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a knife fight with his husband early Friday inside their Harlem apartment, law enforcement sources confirmed.

The altercation took place on West 138th Street, near Frederick Douglass Boulevard, close to the Victory Tabernacle Seventh Day Christian Church. Authorities said the man was discovered lifeless in the bathroom, sitting on the toilet, with multiple stab wounds to his legs.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified, pending family notification.

According to police sources, the man’s 40-year-old husband told officers he fell asleep after the fight and awoke around 4 a.m. to find his partner unresponsive. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Multiple knives were recovered from the apartment. The husband was taken into custody but has not been formally charged as of Friday evening.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

The case has been classified under domestic violence and homicide by authorities.
