The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Ayingba, says it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a lecturer, Mr Olabode Ibikunle, from the Department of Social Science Education.

Ibikunle died last Thursday while in the company of Miss Glory Ojochegbe, a student from the same department. The university described the incident as “tragic and disturbing” and urged the public to avoid speculation.

“The university wishes to state that the circumstances surrounding the death… is currently under investigation by the appropriate authorities,” said Registrar Yahaya Alilu in a statement Friday.

Management also dismissed reports linking another student, Miss Bello Lubabat, to the death, calling such claims unfounded.

“We firmly dissociate Miss Bello and other students from the matter… and appeal for restraint,” the statement added.

PAAU reiterated its commitment to truth, fairness, and justice, calling for responsible reporting as investigations continue.
