Kwam 1 refuted claims that he breached aviation protocols or endangered other passengers, describing such reports as “exaggerated and misleading.”
ABUJA — Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has denied any misconduct during a boarding incident at Abuja airport on August 5, insisting he was the victim and not the aggressor.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, Kwam 1 refuted claims that he breached aviation protocols or endangered other passengers, describing such reports as “exaggerated and misleading.”
“The substance in question was plain drinking water handed to him at the lounge,” the statement clarified, rejecting suggestions that he carried any contraband or violated safety regulations.
He further revealed that ValueJet’s Chairman and Managing Director apologised and offered to fly him privately to Lagos — an offer he declined.
“If there had been anything inappropriate, the airline’s top officials wouldn’t have reached out with apologies and private jet arrangements,” the statement noted.
Kwam 1 also criticized reports linking him to the suspension of the pilot involved, suggesting she may be deflecting blame.
He urged the media to report responsibly and avoid sensationalism.
FAAN has opened a formal investigation into the matter, which has sparked broader discussions on celebrity conduct and aviation standards in Nigeria.
