Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, has denied reports of unruly behavior during a ValueJet boarding process at Abuja airport on August 5, stating he was the victim, not the aggressor.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, he said the substance that drew security attention was “plain drinking water” from the lounge and not a prohibited item.

“Despite his respectful effort to clarify this, the situation was unnecessarily escalated,” the statement noted.

Kwam 1 rejected claims he disrupted operations, adding, “The veteran artiste… strictly adheres to aviation protocols.”

He revealed that ValueJet’s Chairman and Managing Director apologised and offered to fly him to Lagos on a private jet — which he declined.

“The pilot involved now has her license suspended,” he said, adding she might be deflecting blame.

“We urge the media and the public to avoid sensationalism and allow the truth — not assumptions — to guide their judgment,” the statement concluded.
