Rabiu Kwankwaso has accused President Tinubu of sidelining the North in resource allocation, saying most of the national budget now favours the South.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused President Bola Tinubu of favouring southern Nigeria at the expense of the North. Speaking at the Kano State Stakeholders’ Dialogue on the 2025 Constitutional Amendment on Thursday, Kwankwaso claimed most federal resources were being channelled to the South.

“From the information available to us, it’s like most of the national budget is now tilting in one direction in this country,” he said.

The former Kano State Governor attributed poverty and insecurity in the North to inadequate and mismanaged resources, blaming the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the imbalance.

“Let me advise those who are struggling by all means to take everything… it would go everywhere like a desert,” he warned.

He urged Tinubu to pursue more balanced development, noting the North’s poor infrastructure and calling for equitable distribution of national wealth.
