The New Nigeria Peoples Party has ruled out former presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso contesting on its platform in 2027.
NNPP National Chairman, Dr Agbo Major, said Saturday that Kwankwaso and Buba Galadima “remain expelled” for anti-party activities.
“The NNPP had long expelled Kwankwaso and Galadima… Our MoU with the Kwankwasiya Movement ended after the 2023 election,” Major said.
He accused Kwankwaso of “hijacking” the party, changing its logo, and leading it into needless litigation before a court restored the NNPP’s original logo.
“He does not have the pedigree to match President Tinubu in any contest,” Major said, declaring Kwankwaso’s ambition “dead on arrival.”
Major said NNPP would pick its 2027 candidate through due process, warning against claims that Kwankwaso still represents the party.
“We advise Kwankwaso to float his own party and use it for his own agenda,” he said, stressing NNPP would no longer be dragged into controversies.
