Kwara State has ordered the immediate closure of all schools in Isin, Irepodun, Ifelodun, and Ekiti LGAs following rising security threats in the affected communities.
The Kwara State Government on Wednesday directed the immediate closure of schools in Isin, Irepodun, Ifelodun, and Ekiti Local Government Areas due to escalating security concerns in Kwara South.
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kwara chapter, announced the shutdown in a circular signed by its chairman, Yusuf Agboola, stating that the directive came directly from the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
The government cited fresh threats in the region as the reason for the urgent precaution, urging school heads to treat the order with utmost seriousness while awaiting further instructions as the situation develops.
