The Emir of Tsaragi, Kwara State, has allegedly ordered the arrest of Take-It-Back Movement leader Musa Saidu following a peaceful protest against kidnapping and banditry.

The Emir of Tsaragi in Kwara State, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa Goshi II, has reportedly ordered the arrest of Musa Saidu, state coordinator of the Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), after youths staged a peaceful protest against rising insecurity in the community.

Saidu, who spoke with SaharaReporters on Monday, alleged that the monarch became unsettled by Sunday’s demonstration in Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area, where protesters marched to the palace gates to denounce incessant kidnappings and banditry.

“On Sunday I led a protest of kidnapping and banditry in the Taragi community, and it was peaceful and well coordinated,” Saidu said. “So yesterday evening, the Emir… called a meeting that the police of Taragi Division should get me arrested while I led a protest to his palace.”

He further alleged he was harassed at the Emir’s palace and accused of instigating unrest.

The protest followed the abduction of a businessman, Suleiman Ndana, during a midnight raid. Residents said the kidnappers shot sporadically before whisking him away. Ndana reportedly surrendered himself to protect his pregnant wife from abduction.

The demonstrators urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intervene, demanding urgent measures to restore peace in Tsaragi.
