The action follows a viral Instagram Live video in which the entertainer appeared to confess to engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl
The Lagos State Government has alerted the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) following allegations that singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, raped a minor.
The action follows a viral Instagram Live video in which the entertainer appeared to confess to engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl, triggering widespread outrage.
In a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) acknowledged the video, saying: “The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency is aware of the disturbing video… allegedly admitting to unlawful sexual activity with a minor.”
The DSVA noted that while the entertainer did not mention the location of the alleged act, “our jurisdiction is limited to Lagos State.”
The case has been referred to NAPTIP for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The agency reaffirmed the state’s zero-tolerance stance on sexual abuse and urged the public to share credible information through legal channels.
