“To accommodate medical emergencies and international travel, movement restrictions on July 12 will now start at 6:00 a.m., not 3:00 a.m.,” police said.

The Lagos State Police Command has revised the movement restriction hours for the upcoming Local Government elections on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Initially set from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the restriction will now run from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., according to police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

The adjustment is intended to ease the burden on residents with urgent medical needs and those with pre-arranged international travel plans.

The election will be conducted across all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assured the public of a secure and orderly electoral process, urging full cooperation from residents.

Citizens are encouraged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities via the Command’s emergency lines: 08063299264 or 08065154338.

The Command also reminded the public to comply with the new movement timeline to ensure smooth conduct of the polls.
