Notorious killer Wasiu Akinwande was caught in Ogun with weapons and passports after a decade-long crime spree.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the state’s most wanted and notorious hired killer, Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said the 44-year-old suspect was apprehended in a tactical operation tagged Silence, Speed and Surprise at his hideout in Agbado, Ogun State.
Akinwande, long known for terrorising Mushin and nearby areas, led deadly gangs linked to over a decade of violent crimes including murder, armed robbery, cult killings, and kidnappings.
“His arrest marks a huge success in the ongoing fight against violent crimes that are threats to security and safety of residents in Mushin and other parts of Lagos,” Hundeyin said.
Recovered from his residence were two AK-47 rifles, a K2 rifle, Red Ryder rifle, pump actions, pistols, ammunition, walkie-talkies, and nine international passports.
He remains in custody under heavy security and will face prosecution. Police described him as “the most wanted suspect in Lagos’ recent history.”
