The Lagos State Police Command says it has begun a crackdown on street urchins harassing motorists across the state.
The Lagos State Police Command has vowed to take firm action against street urchins reportedly harassing motorists in parts of the state.
In a statement on X on Saturday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the police are aware of the incidents and have initiated steps to address them.
She disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has directed all tactical units to increase both foot and vehicular patrols to ensure safer streets.
Adebisi urged residents to assist the police with credible information to support ongoing security efforts.
Her statement followed a post by an X user who narrated how some area boys in Ogolonto, Ikorodu, harassed a motorist who ran out of fuel and demanded money before allowing him to refuel.
“The Lagos State Police Command is aware of the situation regarding street urchins harassing motorists, and decisive action is already underway,” the statement read.
