New York Attorney General Letitia James received a record $567,000 in donations within 24 hours of her indictment on felony charges, marking her most successful fundraising day in decades.

New York Attorney General Letitia James recorded the biggest single-day fundraising haul of her career, bringing in $567,000 from over 24,000 donors within 24 hours of her indictment on felony bank fraud charges.

A source familiar with her campaign told CNN that most of the donations came through email appeals sent after the indictment, while others poured in spontaneously. Her video response on X drew more than 4.3 million views within a day.

The indictment sparked a wave of support from Democrats across New York and the country. “We are standing in front of the same courthouse where Attorney General Tish James did her job, upholding the law and holding Donald Trump accountable,” said Zohran Mamdani at a Friday press conference in Manhattan. “This is a blatant miscarriage of justice.”

Former Governor Andrew Cuomo, now running for mayor as an independent, accused James of politicizing justice, while her allies countered that Cuomo was aligning with Trump’s agenda.

Councilwoman Crystal Hudson described the charges as racially motivated, saying Trump’s attacks on James reflected a broader pattern of hostility toward Black women in leadership.

Despite the controversy, James remains defiant. “She told me, ‘Don’t worry about me,’” Mamdani said. “That’s indicative of an attorney general who has spent all of her time worrying about the people of the state.”
