According to local authorities, the crash involved a Bombardier Challenger 600 jet, which had taken off from Ohio and was bound for Naples Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the incident and stated that two of the three people onboard were killed, while one survived.
“The plane crashed while attempting to land in poor weather conditions,” the FAA noted.
The wreckage landed just off the highway, causing traffic disruption but no reported ground casualties. Fire and rescue teams quickly arrived on the scene to extinguish flames and assist survivors.
