Nigeria’s streaming industry is expanding at a rapid pace, with platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok becoming lucrative stages for creators to reach local and global audiences.

A new wave of talent is reshaping the country’s entertainment scene, with six standout streamers—Shank Comic, Carter Efe, Peller, SIEN, Enzo, and Cruel Santino—leading the charge.

Emmanuel Adesokan, better known as Shank Comic, rose from Twitter influencer to comedy skit creator before making Twitch his mainstay in April 2025. His blend of music previews and humor has propelled him to become the most followed African streamer on the platform. Recent Twitch data shows 290,556 live views in 30 days and over 22,000 hours watched. He recently represented Nigeria at U.S.-based ‘Streamer University’ hosted by Kai Cenat.

Carter Efe (Odahohwo Joseph Efe), known for viral skits and music hits, brought his comedic flair to Twitch in 2025, attracting as many as 76,000 viewers in a single stream—one of Africa’s highest records.

Peller (Habeeb Hamzat) dominates TikTok live streaming, earning between ₦1 million and ₦2 million daily. His energetic broadcasts draw up to 80,000 viewers, and he set an African record by earning \$30,000 (₦46 million) in a single minute. In 2024, he won Best Content Creator at the Trace Awards & Festival.

SIEN, who found fame with the viral clip “Make I No Die for Ikorodu,” streams both entertainment and cultural content, featuring stars like Ayra Starr and Davido.

Enzo (Rynenzo), though not based in Nigeria, blends gaming competitions with music features, including an appearance by Rema, appealing to diverse audiences.

Cruel Santino (Osayaba Andrew Ize-Iyamu) offers interactive creative sessions on Twitch, sharing unreleased music and collaborating with fellow artists.

Their rise underscores streaming’s potential in Nigeria’s digital economy. With internet access and smartphone penetration on the rise, analysts predict audience numbers will grow sharply. Brands are already taking notice of these highly engaged communities, signaling a new era for Nigerian entertainment.

These six creators demonstrate that talent, innovation, and strategic use of streaming platforms can catapult Nigerian content to global relevance.
