Liverpool have contacted Frankfurt over Hugo Ekitike as they explore striker options beyond Alexander Isak.

Liverpool have made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt over a possible transfer for Hugo Ekitike, as they intensify efforts to strengthen their forward line.

According to The Athletic, the 23-year-old striker, who scored 22 goals and registered 12 assists last season, is also being targeted by Newcastle United. Frankfurt reportedly rejected a €75 million bid from Newcastle earlier this summer.

Liverpool’s interest in Ekitike comes amid their ongoing pursuit of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, though the Magpies have insisted the Swedish forward is not for sale.

Ekitike helped Frankfurt secure a third-place Bundesliga finish and Champions League qualification. He fits Liverpool’s profile of targeting high-potential players with first-team experience.

The Anfield club is looking to sign a top No. 9, with Darwin Nunez available for transfer and Luis Diaz reportedly seeking an exit.

Analysts suggest Ekitike’s pace, movement, and technical quality would offer a strong focal point for Liverpool’s attack alongside stars like Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz.
