Atalanta will be without Ademola Lookman and four other key players for their Champions League opener against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
Atalanta will travel to Paris for their Champions League group-stage opener against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night without Ademola Lookman and four other senior players. Coach Ivan Juric again omitted the Nigeria international from training on Tuesday, extending a stand-off that began after Lookman’s failed summer transfer. “I shouldn’t have to beg him to play,” Juric said after also leaving the forward out of Saturday’s 4-1 Serie A victory over Lecce.
Lookman, who featured for Nigeria during the recent international break, has not played for Atalanta since the end of the 2024-25 season. Midfielder Ederson, striker Gianluca Scamacca, and defenders Sead Kolasinac and Mitchel Bakker are all sidelined with injuries and will also miss the trip to the Parc des Princes.
PSG have their own concerns, with Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele ruled out and former Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia a doubt after limping off during a 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Lens. Kickoff is scheduled for 20:00 BST.
