“We want the whole world to know that the PDP in the South-West is united and we are together and that the coalition is not a threat to the PDP.”
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has dismissed fears over a proposed opposition coalition, declaring it no threat to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West.
Speaking in Ibadan after a meeting of the South-West PDP Caucus, Makinde said:
“We want the whole world to know that the PDP in the South-West is united and we are together and that the coalition is not a threat to the PDP.”
He likened the party to a house with a leaking roof that leaders would fix rather than abandon.
The caucus meeting, attended by top PDP leaders including Osun Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi and former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, issued a communiqué reaffirming loyalty to the PDP and rejecting the coalition.
It also demanded the Federal Government release Osun State’s withheld local government allocation and criticised worsening insecurity and hardship under the APC, vowing to rescue Nigeria through the PDP in 2027.
