IBADAN — An unidentified man fell from one of the upper floors of Cocoa House in Dugbe, Ibadan, on Monday, triggering panic among nearby commuters and shop owners.

Odu’a Investment Company Limited, managers of the iconic building, confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that the man received immediate medical attention and was taken to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

Victor Ayetoro, Head of Branding and Communication at Odu’a, said emergency responders acted swiftly. “We are fully cooperating with authorities investigating the cause,” the company added.

Eyewitness Bolaji, a phone technician nearby, described the scene: “When the incident happened, I initially thought it was a large bird… It was only when the person landed that I realised it was a human being.”

He noted that the man first struck a roof beside the security post before hitting the ground. While the man’s identity and intent remain unknown, onlookers speculated he may have been a worker or deliberately jumped. Investigation is ongoing.
