Man United in talks to sign Osimhen as striker search heats up

Despite his impressive performances in Turkey, a permanent stay at the Istanbul club appears unlikely due to financial constraints.

Manchester United have initiated discussions with Victor Osimhen’s representatives as they target a top-class forward for next season, according to Foot Mercato. The Nigerian striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has netted 33 goals and 8 assists in 37 games this term. However, financial hurdles make his permanent stay in Turkey unlikely.

While Saudi club Neom has shown interest in the 26-year-old, Osimhen reportedly prefers a move to England. “Manchester United are seriously considering him and have held talks,” the report stated. His €12M annual wage demand narrows the field of potential suitors, with United viewing him as an alternative to top target Viktor Gyökeres.

The Red Devils, unhappy with their current attacking options, are also monitoring Ipswich’s Liam Delap. Osimhen’s Napoli future remains uncertain, with Al Hilal’s failed €50M bid last summer highlighting the complex negotiations ahead for any club seeking his signature.
