Mbeumo’s arrival would boost new manager Ruben Amorim, who began reshaping the squad with the £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Manchester United are set to begin talks with Brentford over the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, who has chosen Old Trafford over rival Premier League clubs.

The 25-year-old forward, who scored 20 goals and made eight assists last season, attracted interest from Newcastle, Tottenham, and Arsenal.

Brentford are expected to demand around £70 million. Manager Thomas Frank said: “If he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount… It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot… How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club?”

Mbeumo’s arrival would boost new manager Ruben Amorim, who began reshaping the squad with the £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

United may offload players to fund further transfers, with Bruno Fernandes considering a £80m move to Al Hilal and Inter targeting Rasmus Hojlund.

Talks continue regarding Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, while Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Antony, and Andre Onana could also leave. Media directors Andrew Ward and Ian Nolan are set to depart the club.
