Manchester City have made contact with AC Milan to express interest in signing Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

Talks are still at an early stage, with no formal offer yet made, as City remain mindful of Milan’s Coppa Italia final against Bologna on Wednesday.

City are hopeful discussions will progress after the final, with Reijnders identified as a key midfield target, independent of their interest in Florian Wirtz and Morgan Gibbs-White.

“City are considering several options,” a source said. “Reijnders is one of them.”

Reijnders, 26, joined Milan from AZ in 2023 and recently extended his contract until 2030. He has made 51 appearances this season, contributing 10 goals and 5 assists, and helped Milan win the Supercoppa Italiana. Capped 22 times for the Netherlands, he featured in their run to the Euro 2024 semi-finals.
