Panic broke out in the Ota-Ona area of Ikorodu, Lagos, after an uncompleted two-storey building collapsed on Monday. At least five people have been rescued, while an unknown number remain trapped. Rescue efforts are ongoing.
Panic erupted in the Ota-Ona area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, after an uncompleted two-storey building collapsed on Monday afternoon, leaving many feared trapped beneath the rubble.
According to Facebook user, Rasheed Fatuga, who raised the alarm, said the uncompleted storey building located directly opposite the Mobil Filling Station(formerly Bugon Filling Station) in the Ota-Ona area, caved in this afternoon, leaving an unspecified number of people trapped.
As of the time of this report, five victims have been rescued alive, but the exact number of people still trapped remains unknown.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing, with emergency teams working tirelessly to search through the debris.
The cause of the collapse has not been officially determined.
