“Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278–279… I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there,” Greene posted on X.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has expressed regret over supporting the controversial “One Big Beautiful Bill,” citing a hidden provision that bars states from regulating artificial intelligence for 10 years.

“Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278–279… I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there,” Greene posted on X. She called the federal override of state AI laws “a violation of state rights” and urged the Senate to remove the clause.

The $3.8 trillion bill narrowly passed the House last month and has faced mounting criticism over its massive tax cuts for the wealthy, Medicaid and SNAP reductions, and weakening of judicial powers.

Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell responded sharply: “You have one job. To. Read. The. Fucking. Bill.”

Greene joins Elon Musk and other Republicans now condemning the legislation as it heads to the Senate, adding fuel to intraparty friction over transparency and legislative responsibility.
