Deedy Das, formerly of Glean, has been promoted to partner at Menlo Ventures after establishing a reputation for technical diligence in accelerating AI, infrastructure, and enterprise software startups.
Deedy Das has been promoted to partner at Menlo Ventures, less than two years after joining the firm. With roots as an engineer at Facebook and Google, and having helped scale Glean from pre-product to a multibillion-dollar valuation, Das now leads the firm’s push into AI infrastructure and enterprise software.
Das played a pivotal role in launching Menlo’s $100 million Anthology Fund in partnership with Anthropic, and has earned a reputation for what the article calls “unusually technical diligence.” He backs startups like OpenRouter, which scaled from ~10 trillion to over 250 trillion tokens annually, along with Wispr Flow and Goodfire—both of which came to his attention through the Anthology Fund before Menlo made larger investments.
Founders and colleagues praise Das’s ability to “see the future in a way.” He combines sourcing deals, reading white papers, and hands-on technical verification—including using tools like Claude and building agents to boost productivity.
In his new role, Das reflects a broader trend in venture capital: firms increasingly seek investors with engineering acumen to keep pace with the rapid evolution of AI technologies.
