Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of veteran Yoruba actress Jumoke George, has been found alive in Mali, four years after she was declared missing.
The news was confirmed by actress and TV host Biola Bayo, who revealed during a broadcast of the Talk to B show that she spoke with Adeola via video call. Though mother and daughter are yet to speak directly, Jumoke George expressed relief that her daughter is alive.
Adeola had reportedly been living with her grandmother in Ibadan and was last seen when she claimed she was traveling to Lagos.
In a previous interview, Jumoke revealed that Adeola later contacted the family, asked for forgiveness, and admitted she had traveled abroad with friends in search of opportunities.
Jumoke, visibly emotional, had earlier opened up about her dire health and financial condition. “My first child, Adeola, has been missing. I’ve been looking for her for the past four years,” she said tearfully.
According to Biola Adebayo, Jumoke is currently receiving treatment at a state hospital in Lagos and awaits further medical tests estimated at N400,000.
“She hasn’t called her mom, but Mom is happy she’s alive,” Biola said in an Instagram update.
