Momodu: PDP governors opposing coalition may be working for Tinubu

“If our governors are saying no… then it means that surreptitiously you are probably working for a Tinubu presidency,” he said.

Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation Magazine, has criticized Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors who oppose a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections, suggesting they may be covertly supporting President Bola Tinubu.

On Monday, PDP governors issued a statement rejecting any merger with other parties. This comes amid growing calls for opposition unity to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Arise Television, Momodu warned that no single opposition figure can defeat Tinubu alone.

“Opposition leaders are very determined this time around to work together,” he said. “The truth of the matter is Atiku cannot do it alone, Peter Obi cannot do it alone, and Rabiu Kwankwanso cannot do it alone.”

Momodu emphasized the need to replicate the APC’s 2015 strategy.

“If our governors are saying no… then it means that surreptitiously you are probably working for a Tinubu presidency,” he said.

“People must learn from history; a bully only respects a bully.”
