Mykhailo Mudryk has removed Chelsea references from his Instagram after being charged with a doping offence involving meldonium.
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has removed all references to the club from his Instagram profile following an official charge over doping offences. The 24-year-old is alleged to have tested positive for meldonium and now faces a potential four-year ban.
An FA spokesperson stated: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance… As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”
Mudryk, who has not posted on Instagram since December 17, has changed his profile picture to Christian Bale’s character from American Psycho, and updated his bio to: “Watch how they hate.”
Though his handle and previous posts remain, he is suspended and barred from training with the squad currently in the U.S. for the Club World Cup.
Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed, “I haven’t spoken with him since then… I don’t have more information. Mischa is a Chelsea player. Until he is not, I will trust.”
