This means more channels, more shows, and more reasons to tune in every day
Multichoice Nigeria has announced a 50 percent reduction in the price of its DStv decoder, bringing it down from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000. The move, unveiled on Tuesday, aims to attract new customers while retaining existing subscribers amid economic pressure.
In a statement, CEO John Ugbe described the initiative as part of the “We Got You” campaign, designed to “reward loyal customers and deliver greater value.” Ugbe emphasised the importance of accessibility across genres, noting: “We want to ensure our customers feel appreciated and have access to the best entertainment every day.”
He added: “This means more channels, more shows, and more reasons to tune in every day.”
The initiative includes a limited-time offer: subscribers who pay for their current package in full between June 16 and July 31, 2025, will receive a free upgrade to the next tier.
Multichoice’s decision follows a loss of 1.4 million subscribers between March 2023 and March 2025, driven by rising costs and inflation.
