Elon Musk verbally sparred with the press over a New York Times report on his alleged ketamine use during an Oval Office event marking the end of his formal role in the Trump administration. Standing with President Trump, Musk deflected questions, while Trump lauded his contributions
WASHINGTON D.C. – May 30, 2025 – Elon Musk angrily dismissed a New York Times report alleging his frequent ketamine use during the 2024 campaign, lashing out Friday at an Oval Office event marking his departure from the Trump administration. “The New York Times. Is that the same publication that got a Pulitzer Prize for false reporting on the Russiagate?” Musk retorted to a reporter, cutting off a question. “Let’s move on.”
The Times reported Musk used ketamine, sometimes daily, and other drugs in 2024. Musk has publicly stated he has a ketamine prescription, using it “infrequently” for depression and denying abuse, stating, “if you use too much ketamine, you can’t really get work done.”
