Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has issued detailed instructions for his burial, stating that the Ekiti State Government should take charge of his remains and inter him within four weeks of his death.

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has declared that his body should be buried within four weeks of his death and that the Ekiti State Government must take full responsibility for the burial arrangements, according to a report by PUNCH.

In the six-minute video posted on YouTube on Saturday, Fayose, who turns 65 today, outlined specific instructions concerning his burial. He said: “Death is inevitable. My body belongs to the Ekiti state government… I’m delivering a letter to the governor.” He added that regardless of when his death occurs, the state government should take charge of his remains.

He explained that a four-week timeline would give the government ample time to prepare. “The Ekiti state government takes over my body, and I must be buried within four weeks. Because the state might not be ready within two, three days, we allow them four weeks,” he said.

Fayose also directed his children to follow the state’s instructions and dress in their own clothes during the burial. He revealed that his chosen resting place is the garden at his grandmother’s home, adding: “After my departure, nobody must come there again. Allow me to go.”

City Edge TV also shared a 20-minute video of juju legend King Sunny Ade performing for Fayose at his birthday thanksgiving.

Fayose’s birthday was marked with tributes from political figures, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who praised his leadership and contributions to the state.
