“I now must make sure I continue to give them high blood pressure. As they continue to be in pain, it’ll be sweetening us, and that’s now my job.”
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has vowed to intensify infrastructure projects to frustrate President Bola Tinubu’s critics, saying he wants them to develop “high blood pressure.” Wike made the remarks on Wednesday during the commissioning of key roads in Abuja by Tinubu.
The minister claimed he realized the depth of opposition resentment after watching critics on television. “I didn’t realize people could be in pain, but now I know,” Wike said. “I must make sure I continue to give them high blood pressure. As they suffer, it’ll be sweetening us—that’s now my job.”
Wike pledged more projects to unsettle detractors, mocking their frustration. “I’ll be happy, moving around laughing, while they shout and fight themselves,” he added. President Tinubu commended the road projects, part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades in the FCT under Wike’s leadership.
