A ₦170 million fraud case involving Zinox Technologies Chairman Leo Stan Ekeh, his wife Chioma, and 11 others has stalled again after the Tinubu administration revoked a prosecutorial fiat granted to human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN. The fiat, originally approved in 2022 by ex-AGF Abubakar Malami and later reinstated by AGF Lateef Fagbemi, was rescinded by Director of Public Prosecutions M.B. Abubakar without explanation.

A source told SaharaReporters, “They are doing everything they can to stop the case. But the case is still on.”

The accused are alleged to have used forged documents to fraudulently obtain ₦170.3 million from the Federal Inland Revenue Service. The nominal complainant, Benjamin Joseph, continues to press charges. A civil suit in Lagos related to the case is also facing delays due to defendants’ applications for stay of proceedings.

“There are no new facts; the facts of the case still remain the same,” the source added.
