Over 1,150 terrorists have been neutralised and 669 structures destroyed in Nigeria’s Northwest through joint operations by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Army in the last 17 months, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar disclosed on Friday.
Delivering a lecture at Army War College Nigeria, he said, “Joint efforts have neutralised more than 1,150 terrorists and destroyed 404 criminal structures.”
He noted that the Northeast operation alone saw 1,026 sorties flown, with over 2,236 flight hours of surveillance and interdiction missions.
Abubakar attributed the success to NAF’s recalibrated Concept of Operations (CONOPS), highlighting improved integration of aerial assets, communication systems, and real-time data.
