Suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has dismissed allegations made against her by U.S.-based activist Dr. Sandra Duru, also known as Professor Mgbeke, describing them as baseless.

In a statement on May 1, Akpoti-Uduaghan referred to a Facebook livestream in which Duru used a voice effect allegedly mimicking her, calling it “entirely untrue” and “manipulated.”

“I have carefully watched a livestream which was done by one Sandra C. Duru on Facebook, on May 1st, 2025,” she stated. “The content of the livestream including the voice effect credited to me are entirely untrue, and most manipulated to serve Sandra Duru’s ulterior motive of playing the script of Senator Godswill Akpabio.”

She further claimed that Duru, under the alias Prof. Mgbeke, has misrepresented herself online. “In the nearest of time, I will respond to the unfounded allegations made therein,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said, maintaining that the statements in the video did not originate from her.
