Natasha to NASS Clerk: I’ll sue if you stop my resumption

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has threatened legal action against the Clerk of the National Assembly if prevented from resuming legislative duties on September 15 despite a court order.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has warned the Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA), Kamorudeen Ogunlana, against blocking her resumption at the Senate on Monday, September 15.

In a letter dated September 10 and signed by her counsel, Chief Michael Numa (SAN), the lawmaker said she would pursue legal action if the CNA failed to comply with an existing court directive. “Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter read.

Numa argued that the CNA’s refusal to enforce the judgment violated both the Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers. He warned that potential steps included contempt charges and disciplinary measures.

Tribune Online recalls that the National Assembly earlier maintained that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension remains valid pending an appeal, despite her completion of a six-month suspension.
