NDLEA has arrested ex-footballer Segun Hunkarin and four others in a sweeping drug trafficking crackdown across Lagos, Enugu, and Seme border.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested former international footballer Segun George Hunkarin and four others in a series of drug trafficking operations spanning Lagos, Enugu, and the Seme border.
NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi confirmed that Hunkarin and his associate Ntoruka Emmanuel Chinedu were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after 800g of cocaine was found concealed in Chinedu’s luggage. Hunkarin was waiting at the car park to collect the package.
Separately, Amen Okoro Godstime was caught trying to traffic 5,000 tramadol pills disguised as malaria drugs to Spain.
At Enugu airport, two men were intercepted: one with 17.5kg of meth and 3kg of cocaine hidden in bedsheets; another with 1.25kg of liquid cocaine disguised as soap.
NDLEA also arrested a Beninese man smuggling 29.5kg of skunk, a notorious drug dealer in Kwara, and a 72-year-old grandmother in Delta.
Chairman Buba Marwa commended the teams for balancing supply reduction with drug education campaigns nationwide.
